Blue and Gold Beauty
The Blue and Gold Macaw (Ara ararauna) is without a doubt one of god’s most beautiful creations. These birds originating from South America possess a powerful beak that is used to crack open hard nuts and fruits. This bird is removing a peanut from its shell. This bird is a captive specimen owned by a friend photographed outdoors. The shot uses natural light for the most part with a little flash coming from a canon flash attached to the camera.

what kind of zoom range do you use?

Caitlynn,
In this photo I used a standard EFS 18-55mm which comes standard with the camera. I was rewarded with two great shots and a broken watch from the bird enjoying it a bit too much.
