Outside of the work space I am a cr8tive person – into dabbling in everything I can. Favs though are poetry and photography. I’ve been writing poetry since Year 8 (back almost 20 years ago) and loved the way I can xpress a moment or emotion or just capture some idea that drifts by. I’ve just recently switched to digital photography and am having a ball. I live in sunny North Qld and have most of my life – in different parts. Even up to Torres Straits – my island home actually inspiration for my first real poem. Strong connections to family who are incredibly supportive of everything I try my hand at. I’m a nature lover. I admire that God can create such a beautiful environment – my only challenge is to capture it and portray it in the wonderment I saw it first.

With island beauties / And salty plains With one in floods / And fire another Where diverse / Our people lie / The rainbow colour / Hair and skin dye
I loved being near her / For life just seemed so good / Like flames of life we lit / Her kindling, her wood.
On losing a loved one and the emptiness that follows: / It’s so empty / I trudge through the door / What was once / Is no longer, no more.
When darkness creeps upon you / And where day now seems night / Where in hidden valleys / Tears fall in bitter succession
Should care / But don’t / Should dare / But don’t
I walked upon this world alone / With no one left to share / The silence seemed to overwhelm / The streets so strangely bare. I knew him once / Why did I leave
