WHO AM I?
Who is this little, overweight,silver-haired lady
.who has difficulty walking and is
in the shabbiness of years.
This is all most people see
when they look at me.
They cant see further than the lines on my face.
They dont try to see what is below the surface.
They dont see my mind.
They ask me what I have done with my life.
They dont know I have qualifications
and they dont see what I have achieved.
The only difference between me
and the people asking the questions
is that I got off my big fat backside
and used my brain.
How do I explain that it’s not what I have done
but the fact that I had a go
instead of wishing I had done.
I explored the possibilities that existed.
I released the control on my mind.
I have been a mother, a lover, a scholar,
a fighter, a worker, an artist and a victim,
all at the same time.
Like everybody else I have my weaknesses
and my strengths.
I have looked for love in all the wrong places
and often wondered if I was truly loveable.
At times I am riddled with self doubt.
So, who Am I?
I am a work in progress.
I AM ME!
