This looks great. It reminds me of an old blanket…..it triggers ones imagination. The fact the background doesn’t interfere with the image perfects it and to think those caterpillars just arranged themselves??? LOL. Well caught.

Nice shot, I think these are Small Tortoiseshell caterpillars. It is quite hard to tell as they change appearance quite a lot during growth when they shed their skin several times. However, tortoiseshell caterpillars live gregariously and I think the thin double yellow lines down the sides (seen on the top ones) might be a clue. Another photohere

Wow, amazing shot! I’ve never seen them before, but I suspect that that leaf hasn’t got a chance.

This is a super shot. I tried a similar one last year and know from experience how tricky it is finding a depth of field within a composition that works. Well done!

O dear – poor leaf!!! Beautiful capture – it’s a sensational shot! Unfortunately – I’m no expert on caterpillars but they remind me an awful lot of these ones we have here in Oz that crowd together on Eucalyptus leaves in swarms – and they give off a TERRIBLE smell if disturbed! Eeeuuuuuwe :)
