In my Display photo its me and my beautiful girlfriend known on here as erikaadams
Well. . . I started taking photos when i was about 15, of my brother racing his jet ski with the club he was in with my Olympus C-700. The photos came out good for a point and shoot job :) I liked being able to say that i took the photos and i loved seeing them hanging around, in his house.
It was having other people like my photos and comment on them that started me to really get into Photography and enjoy it.
So with my new interest i decided to do two years of the photography course at my high school. Taking, admittedly terrible photos, but most of that was film, B&W darkroom stuff which i still am, terrible at!
But i still had an interest in photography.
So after high school i did another two years at college, where my passion really grew (i also got a Fuji Finepix S9500 as a birthday present which helped me a lot) throughout the two years i learnt lots about photography in general, and i self taught myself a lot about cameras and lenses. This is where my interest in flowers began, i don’t really know why, i have no reason other than i like the look of the finished product!
At the end of college I came out with high marks for both years and photography student of the year, as well as having my photos picked from the end of year display to be shown in the Tasmanian Art Rage Exhibition, the only person in my school to have that honour (even though the external examiners gave me shoddy marks!).
Somewhere near the end of my time at college I got a Sony Alpha100 with the crummy kit lenses and a Sony 100mm 2.8 Macro. . . Later on getting my b-e-a-utiful Carl Zeiss 24-70mm 2.8 with SSM.
This last year year i was doing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at university, with a plan to go on and do a Bachelor of Teaching. Until the dumb ‘wanky’ written work and expressing of my feelings about everything i do got the better of me!
Now I’m not really doing anything, more planning what i should do now that my first plan went the way of old yeller.
But I’m still taking photos ;) i will shoot anything that interests me, I’m willing to have a go at it all, but its still mostly flowers!
