The Hooper Strait lighthouse is one of only a few remaining screwpile lighthouses that were once active of the Chesapeake Bay. It is now located in the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in the harbor at St. Micheals, Maryland (USA).
I am a retired high school English teacher living in northeast Ohio with a particular interest in photographing lighthouses. As I write this, I have photographed 184 lighthouses…at least one on each of the Great Lakes plus numerous Atlantic Coast lights from Maine to North Carolina. My primary camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XSi…and I use either a Canon Powershot G12 or a Canon Powershot SX120 as backup.
