Located on Lake Michigan at the mouth of White Lake…established in 1875…now a museum…inactive…near Whitehall, Michigan (USA).

I am a retired high school English teacher living in northeast Ohio with a particular interest in photographing lighthouses. As I write this, I have photographed 184 lighthouses…at least one on each of the Great Lakes plus numerous Atlantic Coast lights from Maine to North Carolina. My primary camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XSi…and I use either a Canon Powershot G12 or a Canon Powershot SX120 as backup.

Every time I see a new pic of a yours of a lighthouse on Lake Michigan, I am amazed! Do you have any idea what the total numer is? I guess I can look that up myself….
This is very nice-it has so much character. Great capture and composition.

  • I believe the number is about 80…I might be off by a few but not by much. The west coast of Michigan…from St. Joseph to Traverse City…has some of the most interesting and most beautiful. Very much worth a visit. Thanks for the comment…appreciated as always.
