Annisquam Harbor Light Station by

The original Annisquam Harbor light station was established in the early 1800s near Rockport, Massachusetts; the present forty-one foot tower and attached workroom were built in 1897. Photo was taken in September 2010.

I am a retired high school English teacher living in northeast Ohio with a particular interest in photographing lighthouses. As I write this, I have photographed 184 lighthouses…at least one on each of the Great Lakes plus numerous Atlantic Coast lights from Maine to North Carolina. My primary camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XSi…and I use either a Canon Powershot G12 or a Canon Powershot SX120 as backup.

What a great shot. Instant Fave. (Darts! I missed that one when I was in the area. <grin>)

  • It’s sort of “out of the way” and not so easily spotted. We wandered quite a while before we found it. Thanks for the comment…much appreciated.

Lovely picture. I was in that area last summer but couldn’t seem to get anywhere close to this particular lighthouse. Good job!

  • Hard to find…down a number of side roads…thanks for the comment.

Great shot Jack!! Love the great colours and framing mate – well done! I noticed you have a real passion for lighthouses Jack – if your ever over here in ‘down under’, there’s some fascinating and truly stunning lighthouses to capture!

  • Thanks, Matt…I’ve looked at photos of your lighthouse and would love to shoot them…distance, however, will probably prevent that from happening. I appreciate the comment!
