The Kalmar Nykel: Tall Ship of Delaware by

Calendar Link

The original Kalmer Nykel first sailed to the New World in 1638 from Sweden…present day reincarnation was built in 1997…commissioned in 1998…often called Delaware’s seagoing goodwill ambassador…seen here in the harbor near Lewes, Delaware.

I am a retired high school English teacher living in northeast Ohio with a particular interest in photographing lighthouses. As I write this, I have photographed 184 lighthouses…at least one on each of the Great Lakes plus numerous Atlantic Coast lights from Maine to North Carolina. My primary camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XSi…and I use either a Canon Powershot G12 or a Canon Powershot SX120 as backup.
