Round Island Passage Lighthouse by

The Round Island Passage light is located in the harbor area off the south shore of Michigan’s Mackinac Island…on Lake Huron. It was established in 1947 and is an active aid to navigation.

I am a retired high school English teacher living in northeast Ohio with a particular interest in photographing lighthouses. As I write this, I have photographed 184 lighthouses…at least one on each of the Great Lakes plus numerous Atlantic Coast lights from Maine to North Carolina. My primary camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XSi…and I use either a Canon Powershot G12 or a Canon Powershot SX120 as backup.

I was not familiar with this one, thanks for sharing

  • It’s not as recognizable as several others in the area…boats pass it on the way into the harbor on Mackinac Island. Thanks for the comment…appreciated as always.
