Prabhupada's Palace of Gold by

Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold is located on a 5000 acre estate along a back country road near Wheeling, West Virginia. It was built in the 1970s by Hare Krishnas as a memorial to their founder Srila Prabhupada. Often called the “American Taj Mahal,” it is open to the public…and very much worth a visit.

I am a retired high school English teacher living in northeast Ohio with a particular interest in photographing lighthouses. As I write this, I have photographed 184 lighthouses…at least one on each of the Great Lakes plus numerous Atlantic Coast lights from Maine to North Carolina. My primary camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XSi…and I use either a Canon Powershot G12 or a Canon Powershot SX120 as backup.
