Ironclad Redux by Jack Ryan

I’m not sure just what to say about this boat other than I spotted it returning from Lake Michigan into the harbor in Charlevoix, Michigan. It reminded me of the ironclads in use during the Civil War era. It appears to be rather “rusty” but obviously is still in use. Any ideas you have to share about it would be welcome.

I am a retired high school English teacher living in northeast Ohio with a particular interest in photographing lighthouses. As I write this, I have photographed 184 lighthouses…at least one on each of the Great Lakes plus numerous Atlantic Coast lights from Maine to North Carolina. My primary camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XSi…and I use either a Canon Powershot G12 or a Canon Powershot SX120 as backup.

Gposh Jack this is a great capture of a boat i’ve never seen before, perhaps it;s a relic from WW1?

  • It certainly looks “historical”…curious…thanks for looking and commenting.
