My Album
A lifetime is captured
and frozen in a frame.
Which is placed in an album
and given date, time and name.
Alongside the others,
with granny, mum and dad,
is me starting school
and all the friends that I had.
There’s a clear one of Christmas
presents under the tree.
And me nodding off
on my old grandpa’s knee.
My first bike, pram and record
that I bought for seven shillings.
My first broken limb
and my very first fillings.
Holidays and boyfriends,
a Triumph Toledo in red.
And the handsome, smiling face
of the man who I wed.
My children, my sons,
they came one by one.
Both healthy, happy boys.
A new album’s begun.
My eye is the lens
which captures the part.
The film is my memory.
The album, my heart.

I love this poem !!!!!! I like the fast pace in which it is written but also love the vivid imagery !!! :)
Very nice.. Sounds sort of like the poems I write. As i read it, I felt like I was right there. Which is a good thing.. Nicely Done!!
