Field Workers by Joyce Ann Burton-Sousa

Field Workers by

The original has been sold. Prints, cards and posters may be purchased on this site.

I painted this in layers working first with an underpainting, then adding the field, trees, a little color to the sky, and finally the workers. The medium is watercolor. I use Arches cold pressed 100% cotton paper, and the dimensions of the original painting are 12 3/8 inches x 16 inches.

This painting was featured in the groups “Just Watercolors,” “Landscape Art,” #1 Artists of redbubble," “Impressionism Cafe,” “Art at Its Best,” and “Green Artistry Group.”

About Joyce Ann Burton-Sousa

I am drawn to watercolor because of the conviction that complete control kills art. Unless you remove almost all of the water, complete control with watercolor is very difficult. For me that would still the art and stop the fun.

My paintings are to be enjoyed and celebrated for the pleasure involved in their creation in the hope that pleasure can be passed on to others.

My work has been shown in galleries and appeared in magazines.
