This painting was featured both in Monochrome and in Just Watercolors. Every now and then working in Monochrome is a treat. Rather than focusing so much on color, you can concentrate on light and dark and shape and form. It is a different exercise and one I enjoy. The medium is watercolor, I use Arches cold pressed 100% cotton paper, and the dimensions of the original painting are 14 inches x 16 inches.

Very interesting painting! Congratulations on your feature! I agree, painting in monochrome opens a new world … I did it in the past mainly in charcoal. Today, I am trying to get back into it but this time on silk … a totally different matter!
