Experimentation with India Ink
Many times people install cement or cobblestone walkways to their front or back door. Often, those paths are not the ones people use. A Desire Line is the worn path you wish you had made in the first place.
Take a look at my journal entry concerning this piece.
I hope you like it.

Ever since the beginning of memory, I drew, painted, and crafted. As a child, above our family couch was a painting of lush woods and trail leading to a cottage house. I followed the trail with my mind’s eye and invented a family that lived in the cottage. Sometimes I would ”sit“ under a painted tree and imagine the world of the painting. My orientation shifted, I was no longer sitting on the couch, I was under the artfully rendered tree. This was the beginning of a love affair with art.

serendipity- just happened to be here when it popped on my bubble! Lovely piece!
Shucks thanks.
Well for one, your colour coordination is perfect and not so easy to mix certain ones together but you did it exceptionally; I love this type/style of curves around the corners and the tress; I like how you drew the house; all around this painting is very pleasing to the eye, it’s like when you read a story and it catches your attention from the first paragraph and you want to read more; so with this painting you want to see more as if there is a continuation; it has a mystique about it as well. I like how at the bottom there seems to be a drop, as though there is something else there that we cannot see; all around it’s wonderful work…Just noticed that you mention India, it’s my dream to go there…what a coincidence I had no idea of this…! You have a great style and would like to see more of it:)
Thank you for your response. I see now why you like it. Your encouragement is priceless. I have perused your offerings and have twirled into a flood of ideas. Your photos are so crisp and vibrant. I really like your Romantic
India. I would like to see that culture up close too.

I also have a few children’s book ideas and this is how I would picture the art to be; if you are interested please let me know.
Yes, I am interested. Tell me more.
I invite you to see my recent journal entry concerning the “Desire Line.”

Your work continues to inspire me izzybeth :) I love how you so easily mix “real” things like architecture into “surreal” things like your fabulous trees and foliage. I echo photoloi “…would like to see more of it…”
Thank you Anthony,
The tension between “real” and make “believe” has always intrigued me.

This is fantastic! I love the way the red and green pop against the more neutral colours. I want to write a story about this house… :)
