If you added shadows, it would anchor it more, but that is entirely up to you…if you have a piece of transparent acetate, place it over the painting, paint the shadows on it…you can then see how it will look without altering the painting…if you like it, then go ahead and add the shadows, if you don’t, then no harm done…
