I think this would also be an excellent candidate for literary illustration. The composition, color and presentation are superb.
izzybeth replied
I think it would be a blast to do more with this. Thanks so much for the encouragement. What fun it is… And thank you.

Oh I love your style Beth! So simply stated, yet so elegantly executed. I love the way the fabric in her dress is done – it looks like cloth, you know… the sheen?
Love this!
izzybeth replied
Thank you Tone,
This was simply fun. I knew I had to paint it, once I had the idea. It is such a pleasure.

I keep focusing on the hearts…falling into the basket likes apples from the tree
(Fall season is the best season for apples.)
or leaves falling from that tree…
and the title.
(Harvesting Targets implies that this is taking place in the Fall)
So I’ve captured my own perception of double-meaning in this Fall’s falling that I’m not sure you intended.

Apples, yes apples my produce friend. I have always enjoyed the double meanings in language and in the visual arts. Thank you for your comment. Russ

A joyous image…the colours are so vibrant and I also really like the way you have done the fabric on the dress.
izzybeth replied
Thank you Lulybelle,
I achieved the color by treating the arcylic as if it was a water color. That way I could allow more of the white to show through.
Agnes McGuinness
Just lovely. I love your style.

wouldn,t it be nice if we could find pure love on a tree?but we have to make it our selfs, from our faith ,that by loving, some how it will be returned to us,sadly that is not always the way , but if brave,we keep trying anyway
izzybeth replied
Thank you Madvlad for your thoughtful comment. I hope you liked the image. My gosh…your artwork is wonderful…
I heard that if the fruit tree is not bearing good fruit year after year, it is because the roots of that tree are in poor condition. And so like a human heart the apple of that funky tree is a reflection of the condition of the root.
I hope the apple’s on the tree are good fruit. For I painted them with good intentions.
madvlad
your intent was pure, that,s all we can do, have the right intent, and pray it is not flavored by ego, but, innocence, thank you my art is all over the place, but so are my interests, pruning is important too, besides roots,we all need to prune our dead branches off and on for new growth-lord izzybeth, life,s been one long? trying to make fruit grow in our life,s hopes keep your art coming
