Thank you for popping in to my bubble. When I heard about the Red Bubble, I was thrilled. A location where like minded artists could share their work and ideas?

Ever since I can remember, I drew, painted, and crafted. As a child, above our family couch was a painting of lush woods and trail leading to a cottage house. I followed the trail with my mind’s eye and invented a family that lived in the cottage. Sometimes I would ”sit“ under a painted tree and imagine the world of the painting. My orientation shifted, I was no longer sitting on the couch, I was under the artfully rendered tree. This was the beginning of a love affair with art.

In grade school, my art was featured in an art show, which encouraged my creative energies.
One may say I am a self taught artist. I went back to college in my late twenties, obviously a late bloomer. If I had my druthers, I would study the Humanities: Art and Literature would be my emphasis. While studying for an Associate in Arts and Science degree I meandered around the world of education avoiding visual art: For some reason, I needed to explore other areas. I thought I would focus on psychology then had a heart’s call to the humanities.

Some folks ran away to find themselves in drugs or alcohol, I found myself right there at Academia. Soaring through writing and literature classes, knowing that school was the right option, I decided to go to university and study Drama with an emphasis in Public Relations.

A Yiddish proverb says, “We make plans and God laughs.” I had embraced the humanities, but did not pursue the four year degree. While attending college, I fell in love with a fellow student. My biological clock was ticking, and placed all my energies into playing the wife and mother. Knowing that I would return to school. So once the children were old enough to go to Kindergarten, I found myself in a vocational program studying Interior Design. The design program helped me rediscover my creative spirit. I thought I wanted to study space planning and the mechanics of building houses and then found myself drawing. While I did interior work in a literal sense, symbolically, there was a deep stirring to awaken the sleeping artist.

Art has occurred full circle.

To me, art is all about the process. I enjoy laying down paint and watching it transform from an egg to a flower and so on.
Currently, acrylic paint is my medium of choice.
Dabbling in Altered Art.
I like the control of the colored pencil too.

Thank you for viewing my work. And come back.
And happy bubbling.

Song for you
