I am an art fiend. Ever since I can remember, I drew, painted, and crafted.

As a child, above our family couch was a painting of lush woods and trail to a cottage house. I followed the trail with my mind’s eye and invented a family that lived in the cottage. Sometimes I would ”sit“ under a painted tree and imagine the world of the painting. My orientation shifted, I was no longer sitting on the couch, I was under the artfully rendered tree. This was the beginning of a love affair with art.

Featured in an art show in grade school, I was encouraged to continue. I painted and drew. Painted and drew.

Because he is color blind, a friend and I have many discussions about perception. I see blue and he sees purple. I see green and he sees red. I see subtle shifts in color and he can not see it. It has been a blast learning how other people see things.

I enjoy laying down paint and watching it transform from and egg to a flower and so on. To me it is all about the process.

Currently, acrylic paint is my medium of choice. However, I do like the control of the colored pencil.
