Interesting that your title for this image leaves out the two feet. And interesting that the shoes on the two feet are in color, albeit muted, while the rest of the picture is gray and black. Hm. While I think about all this, I’ll just say the most important thing: that visually, this image is a knockout, by which I mean I’m literally dazed by the composition and dizzied to imagine tumbling down into that darkening vortex.

P.S. Correction: No, your title indeed does mention the feet. I was looking at the name of the redbubble group the picture is in, “Staircases and Stairs,” and momentarily mistook it for your picture’s title. Notwithstanding, my impressions from the picture not only remain, but become stronger the more I regard it.
