GRIST - Your Own Unguarded Thoughts

Your Own Unguarded Thoughts is an audio ritual improvised on the 7th of October 2009. This is the accompanying image.

The title of this piece comes from a Buddhist text.

GRIST – A Demon Sheen’s ritualistic dark ambient improvised collage soundtrack project – no instruments, no composition – where all the sounds are found sounds and all the images are found images.

He makes these sounds by running sound-effects CDs through guitar pedals (delays, loops, distortions) and creating layered waves of emotional evocative real-time ceremonies and soundscapes of gnostic space.

For each Gristian Ritual that he creates, A Demon Sheen creates an accompanying image. These are ALL DIGITAL COLLAGES from found images collected from around the world and all across the internets, so if anyone sees their art being incorporated into his works and doesn’t like it, we can easily take them down.

Also, in this piece, he incorporates a fractal image generated in a fractal generator (he can’t remember which) – which of course is another kind of ‘found image’, albeit one generated through mathematical means.
