Artist's Description

A pen and china ink on drawing paper, this is an illustration to one of Nastratin Hodgea stories, anecdote that the famous poet Rumi (or Roumi) enjoyed so much. A soufi, a funny, bizarre and hjoyeous fellow, Nastratin is one of the emblematic figures of the Orient, his fame and stories being told all the long of the Middle Ages from Persia to the Balkans. The legend says Nastratin is from the same city where Rumi, the persan, lived most of his life, Konya, in Anatolia (today Turkey).
