It is almost 2 years ago that the the bushfires of Black Saturday burnt out the small township of Marysville. 34 lives were lost and 386 of the 400 buildings in the town were destroyed.
I had taken photos of the surrounding countryside before but it took this long for me to return.
The dead trees on this hill are a reminder of the devastation that this fire reaked on human lives, animals and birdlife. However the new growth working its way up the hill shows signs of renewal.
New houses have been built and more are under construction so there is renewal in the township as well.
