Ivana Pinaffo

I was born in North Africa and migrated with my parents to Australia in 1970. I am married, have two daughters and five grand children that are my joy and inspiration for many of my paintings.

My artistic background started at a very young age when I would spend hours painting and drawing. My father was very encouraging and would buy me art material instead of toys as he knew it would make me happier.

In 1992 I decided to take up folk art lessons and spent many hours practicing the brush strokes. Recognising that one never stops learning, I still continue to take lessons to broaden my artistic knowledge and to be with other like minded people.

I explore the canvas by using bright colours, broad brush strokes and thickened textures. I use different mediums depending on the subject that I am wanting to create. I use pastels and oil although my preferred medium is acrylic for the different effects that can be produced (thick,thin and bright).
I have exhibited at numerous art shows and have received many awards.

Art is part of my life. No day goes by without even some artistic thought that will be transformed into a piece of art in the future.

I hope that along with me, all the viewers of my art will enjoy what I have created.
