this leafless, rhyzomatous, (hemi-/epi-)parasitic, saprophytic orchid
emerged at the very beginning of this year for the first time beneath a six year old Eucalyptus elata … much to my surprise : ) South Frankston.

this one is still flowering, Rosie. so i guess others will be too, at least potentially. the trick is that i haven’t seen any others and it’s far too hot right now to look ! : )
