A big Bull Elk on the move. He knows there is another Bull in the area and just finished putting the run on him. This Bull had eleven or twelve cows in his harem when this photo was shot. He was the fullest body Elk we saw and only one other had one extra point on its antler than him.

Lens, Canon EF 100-400mm L IS USM lens.
Tripod, including 498RC2 ballhead.
Taken at 1/100’s at f/5.5, 400mm, iso 800, man white bal. Slightly cropped off the right and top. Selective sharpening due to available lighting, extremely slow shutter speed and movement of subject.

    Nice shot Sandy. myself, my son Scott Denny and Jeff Weymier got many such shots along the Madison River between Sept 23 – 27th.
    We stayed in West Yellowstone and also did some shooting in the Tetons and Lamar Valley.
