Brody stops and takes a natural alert stance, characteristic to the Norwegian Buhund breed. Brody is a wonderfully obedient dog to take on off leash walks. He only ventures a few meters ahead, before stopping and giving eye contact just like in the photo. If he comes up to a side road, he will stop and wait for me to catch up. He is a kind dog to all dogs and humans he may meet along the way. He enjoys playing off leash with my friends two German Shepherd puppies.

Hello Sandy This sort of Dog..polar … Bubund.. is 100% my cup of tea Related to Husky.. samojeed and even Japanese Akita Inu .. They die fighting for you to safe you from whatever
Photo Art.. as usual .. spot on ! Question Sandy.. Do you sometimes also use Bridge in Photo Shop or do you get straight on to PhotoShop.. Just like to know Thanks for sharing all this and lets hope the water in River next to your house will behave well
Sincerely john
Awe,…thank you so much dear John! After initially downloading and editing the raw files to Lightroom, I then export my pics to Adobe Bridge where I store them in titled files to be further edited if need be in photoshop and there they sit in Bridge until I get to burning them! lol Oh by the way, our yard almost flooded yesterday, but we managed to stay dry when the water missed coming in by a couple of inches! Thankfully since yesterday, the rains have stopped, but more is coming! lol Many kind thanks again dear John! : )
What a beautiful dog, Sandy! This breed is so intelligent and well behaved, the folks up at the lake have one, he is a charmer. Your guy is magnificent in his stance!
Very cute- and well behaved. Looks similar to our Akita, but totally different in behavior. Ours is never off leas;, he’s a holy terror to other dogs, and is single-handedly capable of destroying an ecosystem if he got off leash.
That’s why I call him daddy’s sweetums . . .
Yes they are similar in some ways because Buhunds and Akitas are both of the spitz type of dog. There are dog enthusiasts here in Canada who would like to see the Spitz breeds in their own Spitz group. In conformation, the way it stands, each breed of dog is placed in the group that best suits its uses and the Buhund is in the Herding group, where as the Akita is in the Working group. It sounds like your Sweetums is living up his breed characteristics! Though Buhunds tend to be non aggressive towards other dogs, some are strong minded and don’t come when called and best kept on leashes when walked off the property. I am hoping to find a female with the same wanting to please nature as Brody to carry my line on. Thank you for your kind compliment Jay! : )
Sandy…Such a nice portrait of your loyal and well behaved companion. I am sure that he would give up his life for you. He looks so devoted. How nice to have such a beautiful and loyal and well behaved dog. i have seen many who fulfill the first two traits but have failed on the third. As always, you have created a lovely image…clear and well focused and perfectly composed. i hope that the rains will not come to you. We are still cold here and the beaches are now being cleaned up as the many dead fish are removed. Liz
