A single White Fawn Lilly stands out against a shaded background on a sunny spring Easter morning.

Typically White Fawn Lillies stand upright with their stamens facing the ground. This particular Lilly stood out in the crowd as it faced upwards toward the sky.

The Giant White Fawn Lilly ( common name) belongs to the Erythronium oregonum species of the Lilly family. It is native to western North America from British Columbia to California where it grows in the Pacific coast ranges.
They bloom from March to May and prefer dapled to partial shaded, moist well drained woods to open areas at lower elevations. They can grow to 47.7 cm (18") in height and their snowy white blooms with each of their six petals reaching 5.08 cm (2 ") long.
