Two World's Collide by IsabellAnthony

This image is from my trip to India last year. The image is as raw as the experience of seeing India for the first time was. This image was taken inside the Gir National Park in Gujarat, India. The Gir reserve was set up to protect the Asiatic Lion among other wild animals. These people live in a small village in the midst of this reserve. They live a life that is almost stone age with little change from how things would have been for them 500 years ago. The experience of driving through with my iPod and Camera and seeing a life that hasn’t changed in generations was life changing. Don’t get me wrong I don’t pity this woman. I am truly not convinced that my existence is any better than her’s. I was simply amazed that we both existed in the same time period.

Taken with a Canon SX 100 IS.
