Beautiful Old Lady, ~ Ireland.

This is the face of a thousand stories,
I found this lovely Old Lady on the City Streets begging.
She has no English Language so we were not able to communicate, hence I have not got the story of her life.
Hope you like this Photo.
Should any moneys be generated from the sale of this photo it will go to the Homeless Shelter in Dublin.
Comments much appreciated.
Thank You. Joe.

After looking through your photos I have to say this is hands down the best shot. It is a beautiful portrait. What a life this woman must have had. I can only imagine the stories she could tell or the experience she could recount. I hope you were able to do more than take her photo. I have a great grandmother that is getting near to 100 years old, she looks a lot like this and happens to also be Irish. It has definitely reminded me of her. Thank you!!
Margot Kiesskalt
Brilliant portraiture – fantastic!

You should considering adding this picture to some of the groups for portraits. I think there is one called Strictly Faces. It’s perfect for it!

Bravo! Everyone is so caught up in the beauty of youth, we forget about the beauty in the elderly. They are among our most treasured resources on the planet; their wisdom, their perseverance, their resilience, their example should be appreciated and emulated. God bless you for gracing us all with deep and abiding beauty.
IRISHPIX replied
Thankyou Bonnie,
We should all be thinking if we are Lucky enough we will be that age someday.

Fabulous portrait work!
Rebecca Bryson
Awesome portrait there is a lifetime of stories in every line of her face. I hope you gave her a bit of spare change so that she could buy a bite to eat. There is just no excuse for homelessness esp of the elderly. It is the responsibility of the young to care for our elders and respect them as they have so much to teach.

Joe, I’ve got an awful habit of writing a comment and forgetting to send it. Getting old! But I must send it again. This is the most beautiful, emotional, and truly wonderful portrait I’ve ever seen, on RB or anywhere else. To my mind, it’s in the class of that Afghan woman that was so famous on the National Geographic cover some years ago. You should submit it to them, my friend, I know many others would agree. Congratulations is too mild a word for this.
Stephen Morris
A truly moving and altogether superb portrait, the muted colour works brilliantly well.
First class work!

The map etched in lines on her face lead to the eyes that you see. But for her they look backward over a life once lived. Where she loved, laughed, cried and shared with the others that she knew and who are perhaps gone away now. Leaving her to wait.
This is a beautifully captured image.

Joe, this is just wonderful. What a fantastic portrait. I can see that she is probably a bit stern on her children and grand children. But she has a lot of love in her heart. That’s hard to miss in those soft gray eyes. Great capture!!

my god this photo breaks my heart. the lady looks imprisoned in her own skin. her eyes tell enough. you can guess her story, though you would not get to the reality behind this face. this photograph makes me feel very sad, though i appreciate your work. I dont think she is irish, she is most likely from eastern europe or something coming to the west seeking a better life. you can tell that from her scarf.
jwinman
Amazing portrait! she has beautiful eyes…
