A Crane by the Pier by

Mornington Pier is currently undergoing some major reconstruction, so on my first outing with my new Hoya ND x400 filter I was able to experiment with an unexpected subject.

This image is as shot (just converted from RAW to JPEG). Shot with a Canon EOS 7D & EFS 17-85mm lens with an ND x400 filter, tripod mounted.

5.2 sec exposure, F22, ISO 100.

I like the sense of size from this photo. I feel very small.

  • Thank you – it was good to be able to get up so close while it was parked in such a friendly location!

I LOVE this. A real live Tonka Truck in the world’s biggest sand pit!
    WOW.
    Great capture,

  • Thanks Lanii. It was quite fun taking this one – many people at the pier seemed to thing I was really rather weird, but I too think the result is great.
