Under the Sun

Let us do something new
At night
Because nothing is new
Under the sun.
Let us build a city
By moonlight-
Something huge.
Let us not be scared
Rather, let us be new.

Only, what is not under the sun-
Whose gravity tugs us around
Until we are forced into its glare
And its light pierces every place
Searching for something
To call new?

In rule by gravity
We are under
The sun
And everything built
It will eventually find in daylight
So let us build in our minds
With light
So that the darkness
The sluggish
And illiterate darkness
Will not comprehend.
