Fernie The Mouse

Fernie was a funny mouse who couldn’t tie his shoes
‘Cause when he did his head fell down, and then he’d a have a bruise
See, Fernie had a bigger head, or bigger more than small
And if he moved around a lot his head would simply fall
Other mice with smaller heads would laugh at Fernie’s falls
They’d call him “Fernie Fall A Lot Who Crashes Into Walls”
Oh, but Fernie cried and cried and prayed with all his might
He prayed his heavy head would shrink to fit his body right
And when he woke it worked indeed! His head was surely small
So small, in fact, poor Fernie’s head could not be seen at all
He prayed again his head would grow and stumbled back to bed
It never did and so he lived “The Mouse Without A Head”
Poor Fernie’s head was much too small for such a massive prayer
It seemed his heavy head alone had room enough to spare
