This passage comes straight out of Matthew 26:41 in the Bible. Jesus has just returned from prayer in the garden to find His disciples sleeping. He says to them, “the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak,” signifying how spiritually ready His disciples are to follow in His footsteps, yet how susceptible they still are to sin and temptation.
I think we can all relate to the disciples in this matter. Many of us find ourselves so willing to follow and serve God, but we keep letting other matters get in our way. I, for one, am glad that I serve an ever-loving, ever-forgiving God! Take this verse with you as a reminder to do your best in life for the One who has given His life for you!
