MAY UPDATE: Hello! We’ve not had a lot of time to devote to the aetherwebs these past few months due to some health problems with one of us and the excess of domestic bru-haha that threw upon the other one of us. So we’re in the process of getting caught up on mail and comments. Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments on our work! :)

ABOUT: Insects & Angels is a fantasy focused ezine established October of 1998. Each month we featured three artists or photographers from a wide range of genres. In 2010 I&A got a make over as it moved to its own domain and the Aether Blog was born along side of the print version of I&A.

The Aether Blog offers an eclectic mix of art & culture on a daily basis, while the I&A magazine comes in two styles. The TPB sized issues are cover to cover art & photography. These issues are meant to be affordable, bite sized art books that coordinate a variety of different visuals that compliment one another. The second I&A style is a standard magazine size and format. Both styles are based around a particular theme and every issue has its own collection of original art, photography and fiction created for that theme.

I&A is maintained & published by artist & author Bethalynne Bajema with help from her fiancée, fellow artist Myke Amend. I&A’s Redbubble profile includes all the original artwork done for the various issues along side of both Bethalynne and Myke’s own portfolio of work. To visit the Aether Blog or to learn more about the magazine, please visit our site: insectsandangels.com. To see samples of past magazines, visit our issue archive here. Issue IV, Constance Parthena’s Nymph & Mermaid Emporium
We’re currently taking submissions for our fourth issue. This issue’s theme is water creatures or scenes, both the fantastic, fairy tale like and the dark Lovecraftian. Mermaids, nymphs, sirens, selkie, cthulhu, whatever lurks in your water landscapes. Please send us a message or visit the site for submission details.

Issue V, Memento Mori for the Secret October
By spring I&A people are already counting down the days till Halloween. Crafters have their Christmas in July to prep for the season and this is the autumn lover’s issue . Wanted: dark work that falls into the surreal, romantic, gothic, Halloween, dark valentines, and of course your memento mori.

Calendars - Getting Art on the Cheap Side
When I was younger I often told people of all the Taurus traits I seemed possessed with being stubborn and materialistic where right up there at the top. Stubborn is easy to define. Being materialistic comes in a few different flavors. My flavor was the one of simply liking beautiful or spooky things. I enjoyed collecting very delicate chokers, dark toys (like American McGee’s Alice figurin…
