Dusky Moorhen & White Ibis

Dusky Moorhen & White Ibis

This little group of Australian native waterbirds was photographed at a little public Nature Reserve at The Binnacle in Port Macquarie , NSW. Australia, on a winter’s afternoon.

The real subject here is the light.

The low slung winter sun cast a golden light across the scene and light was also reflected from the water. I really love the effect.

The birds on our left are Gallinula tenebrosa (Common Moorhen) and those on our right are Threskiornis molucca (Australian White Ibis) .

Visit the Aussie Birds collection in my BubbleSite for more fine feathered friends.

Enjoy!

This is absolutely stunning. I love the tones and the contrasts along with the abstract reflections. The lighting is incredible.

    G’day Derid,
The lighting was indeed incredible that afternoon. I have not seen it like that since and as I went to that place on a whim, it was a very “meant to be there” moment.
I am so glad you like this and I thank you for your interest and very encouraging ”...stunning…” comment.
    God bless you and yours,
    Dennis
