Blue Flax Lily & Soldier Beetle #3
This miniature springtime-in-the-bush shot was made along the Flower Bowl Walk in Kattang Nature Reserve at Dunbogan, about a forty minute drive south of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia.
The flower is a Dianella caerulea (Blue Flax Lily) and the teeny-weeny beetles are Chauliognathus tricolor (Soldier Beetle), both native to Australia. These beetles are the main pollinator for the flowers.
Fuji S5500: High resolution jpg, +10 dioptre screw-on lens, Macro, f/4 @ 1/40sec, ISO100, Low powered flash, Tripod, Timer.
