Tetragnatha sp
This interesting lady with the great leg spread is a fine example of the Tetragnatha species (Long Jawed Spider).
The photograph was made alongside a rainforest creek on a friend’s property at Kundabung, between Port Macquarie and Kempsey, on a great summer day. Getting the best focus and depth of field was extremely hard to do and I was being attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes.

G’day Prasad,
I was very pleased with this result as it was such a hard shot to make.

G’day Cory,
I don’t find insects or spiders creepy, I find them fascinating.
Thank you big time for your interest and your ”...Excellent…” wrap for this very harmless and delicate spider.

Yikes! This made me flinch, because I do NOT like spiders! That being said, you captured this specimen beautifully!
Dennis Gay replied
G’day Judith,
Good to see you put up with all the mozzies to take a peek at this little rainforest spider.
Many thanks for your very encouraging wrap for my arachnidal efforts.

Excellent shot Dennis, harmless he may be, but I don’t want him crawling on me. I don’t like spiders but it’s only because I saw the movie, “Tarantula” when I was a kid.
