This eye catching specimen of Omphalina chromacea (Yellow Navel Fungus) was photographed in the North Shore area of Port Macquarie on a winter afternoon.
This little yellow jewel was only about ¾” (20cm) tall.
Fuji S5500: High resolution jpg, Macro, f/8 @ 1/6sec, ISO100, EC +0.3, Hand held with camera resting on ground.

It’s all a matter of just “getting out there” and spending hours walking ‘n’ looking and hopefully not stepping on one before you see it. A bit of local knowledge also helps and that is where being a member of a camera club has come in very handy.
