Ship's Bell #1
This very stark and highly contrasted monochrome is of the super structure of one of the local tourist craft, shot against the setting sun, from the Fishermen’s’ Moorings on the south bank of the Hastings River in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia , on a late autumn day.
The sky was a lovely clear indigo, the sun a blazing yellow/white and the silhouette as black as pitch. How could I resist making a photograph exposed for a B&W as the final outcome?
What I really like about the final result is the sharp, clear silhouette, the brilliant contrast and the ship’s bell, so clear against the setting sun. I also like how the Exposure worked so well with sunlight being slightly muted by the perspex around the wheelhouse.
