Surf the Dark Tunnel
THE SUBJECT:
An intrepid young bodyboarder photographed as he rides the tube in the murky flood waters.
THE LOCATION:
From my rocky perch on at the end of the breakwater overlooking Town Beach in Port Macquarie , NSW, Australia, on a chilly winter day.
THE MAKING of ‘Surf the Dark Tunnel’:
The sea is not always blue or green as this shot clearly shows. There had been about a week of solid rain in Port and the brown river water had been pouring out to sea for days. The tide and current then washed it into the beach but that did not stop Port’s keen seals from performing in the black tea coloured waves.
Fuji S9600: RAW, 1/500sec @ f/4.9, ISO80, Continuous focus, Hand held.
Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3.

i think this sand filled wave would be heavy.. if he gets dumped by that, he’ll find sand on himself for the next year.. please can a have an original comment in reply? ~lily

Thank you for your interesting remark on my surfing photographic efforts.
The wave is not filled with sand it is discoloured by floodwater from the river, as I described in my narrative.
Is this comment original enough for you?
What do you feel about the photograpy though? 8-)
