Sowerbaea juncea (Vanilla Lily)
This lovely showing of the Sowerbaea juncea (Vanilla Lily) was photographed along the Ocean Drive Fire Trail in the Queen’s Lake Nature Reserve, North Haven, NSW, Australia, about a thirty minute drive south of Port Macquarie.
I was on a wildflower hunt with a Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club friend and we found quite a few of these in flower but finding one that would make a good photograph is always difficult. This is mainly because there is rarely more than one or two buds open at a time. It is all part of the plant’s survival strategy.
Visit the Aussie Wildflowers collection in my BubbleSite for more native gems.

Hmm, I just wrote that I have rarely seen such a great light on your Patersonia Sericea, but here’s certainly another. Perhaps this even beats it, Dennis. Can’t compare, though, but the same applies to this. I just love these colours, the striking sharpness and the gorgeous lighting.

G’day Kofoed,
So nice of you to join me along the fire trail on another wildflower hunt and that you are the very first Bubbler to spot this sweet Vanilla Lily.
Many thanks for your most supportive and encouraging ”…great light…” wrap for my wild Aussie lily efforts.

No matter what colour many wildflowers and fungi are they all seem to blend into their environment at times. 8-)
