One Afternoon on the Hastings
Here is proof that there really, really IS such a thing as photographer’s luck and that it is alive and well in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia.
I had been keeping my eye on this river scene for quite some time, hoping upon hope to be there in just the right winter afternoon light to see if I could make a decent shot. There was some disappointment in that I could not get the exact angle I wanted as access to that spot is almost impossible unless perhaps I had a row boat.
So there I was, crouching, bending, stooping to get a clear view between tree branches as well as get the best angle I could find to show as much of the boat as possible. Perfect light, lovely scene, ready to shoot when the Egret flew in from stage right and alighted on a float! So there is the proof – photographer’s luck!
Fuji S9600: f/8 @ 1/420sec, auto focus, hand held, gave me the lovely exposure, the depth anf detail.
Lightroom & Photoshop CS3 rendered the fine result.
Enjoy!

Your hard work and patience paid off Dennis, the light is exquisite and your good eye has produced a beautiful work of art. The muted colors and contrasts are very pleasing to the eye. Composition of this subject is very good. Very well done!!
