Tripladenia cunninghamii (Bush Lily)

Tripladenia cunninghamii (Bush Lily)

These very pretty native Australian lilies are wonderful examples of the Tripladenia cunninghamii (Bush Lily).

They are a delight to the senses every time I come across them as they dwell in the deeper, darker, cooler areas of the undergrowth very close to the ground and add their lovely soft lilac colour to an otherwise dull environment.

I found this plant in just such a little nook on one of my summer walks along The Kenny Walk, in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia.

They were in too awkward a place to use my tripod so a very steady hand held shot gave me this beautifully lit image.

Fuji S9600: RAW, f/8 @ 1/340sec, Manual focus.
Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3.

Enjoy!

The petal texture of these flowers can make it look like a painting, especially when wet. Then they look like a watercolour. 8-)

Yes, the petals and leaves have a waxy look to them. I have another shot in my collection somewhere, still to be processed, shot right after a raindrop hit a flower. Must dig it up. 8-)
