A Man and His Dog in a Tinny
This mono fisherman and his seadog in his little “tinny” were setting out for some night fishing when I photographed them from the south bank of the Hastings River in Port Macquarie , Australia, just on sunset on a winter day with my trusty old Fuji S5500 exactly two years ago.
The reason I held on to it until now was that no matter how I processed the original colour image or what black and white conversion I applied, it just didn’t work for me.
So when I obtained Lightroom and Photoshop CS3, I gave it another go and really like the result.
Fuji S5500: f/4 @ 1/400sec, hand held.

G’day Laura,
So good to see you down by the river taking in the sunset and that you are first to spot this little fishing expedition.
Many thanks for your most encouraging ”...Brilliant…” wrap for my mono sunset efforts.

You are quite correct. “tinny” is slang for a can of beer AND for little aluminium boats. 8-)

Excellent shot Dennis, I like this in B&W, perfect choice, the shining water with the silhouette. Very effective.

Yes, the higher quality of B&W image produced from Lightroom and Photoshop CS3 really showed when I compared this with an earlier version. 8-)
