Soul Shattered

Another late night adventure into poetry, a bit more obscure and obtuse this time, or so I tell myself.

As a companion artwork *
Jodie Noonan’s - Shattered

Soul Shattered

Mind aches, body devours
my last scrap of … energy.
A husk drained of life, torn
between
then torn again,rent and broken
in a bloody pile of mess and bones.

Numb, naked, nothing,
nothing left Not now,
probably never again.
Alone and still.

Soul shattered, splintered
smashed in smithereens.
A pale reflection of,
my distorted dreams.

Never waking, never sleeping,
stateless, in another plane.
Unbecoming, never ending,
once beginning now insane.

I’m sure we must have passed through the same doorway, but i’m also sure it’s to allow us to see, hear, speak, paint, photograph or write what we would not, had we not ventured there
