Yes there was some tone mapping for this shot, I just playing with it till I like the final image.

Fliptophead – It’s been featured in a number of films and tv shows, I didn’t realise but its apparently one of the most popular scottish castles.

Thanks Walter and Theia – the colours were simply brilliant and I’m glad I was there to capture it and that the photos for once fully realise the scene and reproduce what I saw when I was there.

Very stunning this picture reminds me of a fantasy picture where magical things happen. It’s fun to see a picture and imagine it in another aspect then it really is. Either way iit is a stunning picture! It would be so cool to travel to places like this.

It is wonderful..I have to agree with the others, the color is breath taking. I have always been quite fond of castles and have wanted to go see one. I would have to say this deffinatly hightens my idea of going to see a castle. lol Job well done!

Well Rebecca I saw a lot of castles on my trip probably over 15 but I haven’t really stopped to count and it you also count old churches, abbeys, cathedrals and ruins then lots more. And I have to say this and Mont Saint Michel were my definite favourites and hence I’ve posts shots of both and none so far of the other 20 odd that we visited. So don’t expect them all to be this good, as I’d hate for you to be disappointed when you got there.

tryingtofind – yes this shot had a mild HDR process to it, just to help capture the full Dynamic range
blod – no I wasn’t using any filters, not even the UV filters I’d usually have I decided I wanted the sharpest images possible so remove all my filters for nearly my whole trip
