Blue Sky Mill

Blue Sky Mill

On our way to shoot night shots at Mont Saint Michel we pulled over in a side lane to find a good spot to take shots of this WindMill, unfortunately it really started to blow and rain as soon as I got out of the car, still I think it was worth getting wet for the light was just delightful.

Thanks guys, I am very happy with the shots I’ve shared so far, overall I think I’ll have a very low keeper rate from my 20k photos, but even a low rate should mean 6-12 good shots for RB.

Craig, I’m pleased you made the sacrifice to get wet for this photo! Great positioning for the windmill too. It’s really beautiful the way you’ve managed to capture the light, turning the windmill into pure gold!

That is just sublime Craig. The night sky is perfect and the light-say no more. Isn’t it good when after you’ve suffered the perils of the weather you get a great shot! Really tops.

Thanks everyone, this hasn’t been my most popular photo here, but in some respects I like it more then the fancy castles as this is much simplier and still functional, where most the castles are empty / museum like tourist attractions. I have plans for a large print of this when I can save up my pennies.

Beautiful shot. The lighting makes it feel like a special place, even if its just a wind mill.

I like how you shot a lot of images at twilight and pick up on the artifical light that comes on at this time…I have a number of images using the same technique
