Front Row Seats
Two Brighton Deck chairs sit with great vantage spot of a incoming storm front. I love the moody feel to this shot. I must thank Matthew Bonnington for his help in bringing the most out of this shot, his help with some new processing techniques really add impact to this shot.

Lost Lost, about 1 year ago
Great and dramatic result! Love the comp, moody sky and some beautiful tones.
You and Matt could probably give me some pointers one day on b&w tones.

Super fantastic Craig – love everything about this image, especially the tonal work of the foreground and just behind the chairs – so beautifully handled!
Stephen Colquitt, about 1 year ago
Great title for this shot Craig – ya done good. What sort of new processing have you been doing?>
hugo, about 1 year ago
love it, Craig, just keep them commin!!!
Craig Goldsmith, about 1 year ago
Thanks for the feedback, this was my first real use of adjustment layers, with a contrast adjustment layer, a curves layer and also a color mixer layer (to produce the B&W tones).
Then dodging and burning to suit.
Jon Dawes, about 1 year ago
Sweet image… You will have to show me those processing techniques when you get back!

Couldn’t have been better. Looks great in B/W. I can see this on a greeting card for different moods. Great work!!
Asia Barsoski, 11 months ago
Very Dramatic, the stripes really grab the eyes and the dark storm coming. From looking at it , I can feel the electricity in the air that happens just before a storm arrives. Nice work!
zee1, 11 months ago
Gorgeous image and the chairs look like they are just waiting for the action to start in the sky:)
rebecca zachariah, 11 months ago
Oooo…...I really like this. Nice work.

i take it this was taken the same day as the image ‘(seen better days), i9f not they work well as a piece together.
has the same brilliant effect and great sky, well done
Craig Goldsmith, 11 months ago
orouke- you have a good eye same beach (Brighton, UK) and maybe at most an hour appart problably less.
Thanks everyone for your feedback I appreciate it, my wife has ordered this as a large canvas I’m really looking forward to seeing the final product.
Louise Cooke, 11 months ago
I really love this. The crunchy stones, calm water, dramatic sky and the highly contrasting chairs. Awesome!
davecurtain, 11 months ago
great shot – this is one of those “picture tells a thousand words” to me – ominous clouds give a sense of foreboding & you wonder to where the occupants of the seat have gone, & why.
or maybe not.
Craig Goldsmith, 11 months ago
Dave – I think your right, it lets each viewer tell there own story of what is going on.
Was there previously a couple that have fled to avoid the storm, or have they been empty the whole time due to the bad weather.
Roberth Strand, 11 months ago
Brilliant shot.

the sky is extremely brilliant. I love the effect b/w has on the shot. I think the chairs really bring something to it also…instead of just some cool sky you might see anywhere else(maybe) it’s got something else..i dunno…just love it

Hello Friend, What a wonderiful world you must live in! Great shot. Even the one of you holding your picture. It is great to see all the talent, and to be more inspired by others who share the same passions. Keep capturing your vision, it is a coloriful take, especially with just two colors. Until our paths cross again, happy trails to you, and all your friends. Darrell

Wow, thats cool! Did you put them there?
Craig Goldsmith, 10 months ago
Thanks Matt, you’ll be getting your cut of the prize once I know what I’ll be recieving as it was your PP help that really brought this image to life.
Rebecca – simple mistake they had copy and pasted from the theme above and changed all but one field, it’s been correct on the site, and it atleast linked back to me so it’s all good.
Kim – Thanks for the comments
Christiaan – The seats where already there, but it was a blustery day and these were the only pair I photographed on the entire beach the others weren’t sitting right, or where blown over, or the seats just looked mangey.
