Anyone who subjugates photography as a second tier art form, should be pointed in your direction, and to reference this shot -masterful crop. It almost looks as though there is a conversation being overheard…ever thought of adding a caption?

“No really, it just looks small because it’s cold out…”

The composition/framing is brilliant. It’s a totally new take on such a well-know monument. Great job!

David – I did this they were whispering about something, and she is looking in that direction. But to be honest it was 33 degrees that day, so he’s clutching at straws.

Snurfdood – Made me laugh, I wonder if the original artist was a male or female..

Thanks everyone else for all the great comments.

Wonderful job, love the display. Great close up and perspective! * about Craig`s comment.. Pssst… most likely it was a female she`ll usually portray it as it is, men might want to lie about it just a fraction or so…(Just kidding! )

Wow great job once again Craig, I love the way the statues are positioned to the side with the Eiffel tower as a backdrop, this is a classic shot!

  • heydiddles

    heydiddles

This is a great shot. you have made a normally boring and overdone subject kinda fresh again. Yeah, this is a great picture. I love the kind of inversion of subject matter, how the tower, normally centre stage, has become just a part of the scenery.

It takes me time to comment but seems that today I’m all hyper so here I go: The way the statue stares at the camera is almost like inviting the viewer to “come in”, to dare to move forward and head to Eiffel’s Tower. If I could think a phrase for the statue that would be “It’s only a few steps ahead.”

I must add the sky of that day was glorious. They feel absolutely epic and match the tone of the picture.
